PUBG Starts Test With Full-Size Quarter Play Area
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG, has begun testing a new play area that’s only a quarter the size of the other two playing areas in the game. For the time being, this is a closed test.
The new play area has been codenamed Savage and would virtually measure approximately four by four kilometers. That should make playing the shooter faster and more intense, is the thought of the makers. They explain the plans in more detail in a blog post on Steam Community.
Savage is currently only subject to a closed test. Players can sign up for play sessions between April 2 and 5, but will be admitted by invitation only. The makers of PUBG are going to give away keys on social media, but more information will be released from Monday about how to get access.
The reason for the closed test is that the makers first want to gather feedback before the playing area is released to more players. After implementing the feedback, Savage will probably be accessible to all PUBG players, but exactly when that will be is still unclear; previously the makers only let go that this will be before the summer.
