Canadian publisher Entertainment One and film producer Mark Gordon are going to make a television series based on the Street Fighter games. The series is being created with the team behind the web series Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist.

The story of the series is based on the World Warrior storyline from Street Fighter II: The World Warrior and revolves around four main protagonists: Ryu, Ken, Guile and Chun-Li, Deadline writes. Together they must defeat M. Bison, the boss of the worldwide criminal organization Shadaloo.

The series is co-created with Joey Ansah, Jacqueline Quella and Mark Wooding. This team previously produced the web series Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, which was shared on Machinima’s YouTube channel. Unfortunately, the videos have since been removed and can only be seen on television or can be bought on a DVD.

It’s not clear when the team plans to finish the series and through which channels it will be available. It looks like the project has barely started, so you’ll probably have to wait a little longer for your martial arts fix. Until then, enjoy the Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist trailer.
