GeForce Now can now add compatible Steam games to client itself
GeForce Now, Nvidia’s game streaming service, now has the ability to fetch a user’s Steam library and list what can be played through the service. Previously, users had to add their compatible games to GeForce Now themselves.
After a sync with Steam, all compatible games will appear in the user’s Library. Before that, they had to use search, forum posts or trial & error to check what they could play through the service. In the announcement, Nvidia does not say that the feature is also imminent for other platforms, such as the Epic Games Store or uPlay.
GeForce Now is a game streaming service where players have to provide the games themselves. They do this by linking their accounts from services such as Steam, after which they become playable in the GeForce Now client, which also runs on smartphones and the Nvidia Shield TV media player. However, since the release of the service, multiple publishers have withdrawn their games from GFN. In response, Nvidia has opted-in to add games to the service.
GeForce Now is available as a free service, with a maximum session length of one hour. For a limited-time price of $ 5.49 per month, users get priority access in the event of server congestion, ‘hour-long’ gaming sessions and support for the ray tracing techniques of the company’s RTX video cards.
