Doom: Annihilation movie trailer appears on YouTube
Universal 1440 Entertainment has released the first trailer for Doom: Annihilation, a new feature film based on the Doom shooter series. The print would not be released in cinemas: the film will be released immediately in the fall on streaming services and on physical carriers.
Doom: Annihilation follows a group of space marines who respond to a distress call from a base on a moon of Mars. “When they get there, they discover that the moon has been invaded by demonic beings who threaten to create hell on Earth,” the synopsis said.
The first trailer published on YouTube, among others, lasts only thirty seconds and shows the usual mix of weapons, monsters and gore. The action film is directed by Tony Giglio, who is known for, among other things, SWAT: Under Siege. Actors include Amy Manson, Dominic Mafham, Luke Allen-Gale and Nina Bergman.
It is not the first time that the iconic shooter series has been made into a movie. In 2005 the movie Doom was released, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Karl Urban. Critics see that print as a flop and get a moderate score of 5.2 on IMDb.
