Fitbit announces Versa Lite smartwatch
Fitbit has presented a Lite version of its Versa smartwatch. The watch has the same dimensions as the existing model, but lacks several functions and in return has a lower price.
The Versa Lite has, among other things, no NFC for mobile payments and also no altimeter for tracking the number of stairs climbed, Fitbit reports. Also, users cannot put music on the watch and onscreen workouts do not work on the Lite edition. The watch, on the other hand, is available in various colors that the other Versa watches are not available, such as blue and purple. Other hardware and functions of the Versa are on the watch. The design and dimensions are the same. The Versa Lite will go on sale next week for 160 euros.
The first Versa went on sale last year as a cheaper variant of the Ionic. The software is Fitbit OS and is based on the work of Pebble, which Fitbit acquired. The Versa Lite is the cheapest smartwatch the company has released to date. In addition to the smartwatch, Fitbit announced three fitness trackers. The Inspire and Inspire HR for adults and the Ace 2 for children.
