The developers of Eudora Email have released beta version 6.0.0.12. In this release, two new features have been added that relate to sending e-mail and rendering a webpage. The release notes look like this:

RELAY PERSONALITY

• The “Relay Personality” is a personality whose server and credentials are used by other personalities for sending email. You can use a relay personality if your ISP requires you to send mail for all your accounts via your ISP’s SMTP servers only.

  The “Relay Personality” may be a preexisting personality, or it may be a personality specifically created for that purpose. The relay personality is set in the “Sending Mail” options panel. The relay personality defaults to “None”. Individual personalities can be set to use or ignore the relay personality via the “Use relay personality, if defined” setting (defaults to on) in the “Generic Properties” of the “Account Settings” for the given personality.

CONTENT CONCENTRATOR

• The Content Concentrator makes messages more readable by trimming excessive headers, quotes, and signatures when messages are displayed. For this release it only concentrates plain text messages (ie not styled HMTL messages).

  The degree to which the Content Concentrator concentrates is controlled by the profile(s) specified in the “Content Concentrator” options panel. The default profile for the preview pane is “Compact” and the default profile for message windows is “None” (ie no concentration).

  If you want to display the full content of a message that has been concentrated in the preview pane, then open the message window (eg press the Enter key or double-click on the message). If the message window itself is concentrated, because you’ve changed the profile for the message window from the default of “None”, then click the “Blah Blah Blah” button at the top of the window to display the full message without any concentration .

  Please note that when the Content Concentrator is active (either in the preview pane or in a message window) it overrides the older settings for what headers are displayed.
