Google shows General Mobile GM8 Go at telecom fair MWC

Google has shown the General Mobile GM8 Go at the Mobile World Congress telecom fair. It is the first phone from the Turkish manufacturer with Android Oreo Go, the light version of Google’s mobile operating system.

The GM8 Go is a variant of the existing GM8 with Android Go. The phone runs on a MediaTek MT6739 soc. That is a quad-core with four Cortex A53 cores at a maximum of 1.5GHz, equipped with an Imagination PowerVR GE7100 GPU at 570MHz. General Mobile has 1GB of lpddr3 memory added, while the emmc storage is 16GB.

The phone has a 5.5″ screen with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Turkish manufacturer has placed a fingerprint scanner at the back, making it the only Android Go phone to date with that function. .

It is still unknown when, where and at what price General Mobile will release the GM8 Go. Google will show the phone on its booth at the Mobile World Congress telecom show, along with other announced models with Android Go, such as the Nokia 1 and Alcatel 1X.
