A remaster of the original, more than 20-year-old game Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, will be available to players with a Nintendo Switch console on March 18. An updated version of this original was previously available on PC and Xbox One.

The Nintendo website states that Turok will be released in just under two weeks for $ 20. It’s about the remaster, where the classic game has been ‘upgraded’. In any case, with the Switch version it is possible to look around and aim weapons independently of each other. Dinosaur hunting is still the core of the game, again with the necessary high-tech weapons.

The HD remasters of the original Turok and its successor Turok 2: Seeds of Evil were already available for PC in 2015 and last year it was the Xbox One’s turn. At that time, developer Nightdive Studios could not yet confirm that the titles will also be released for the Switch, but the company did indicate that’s a ‘cool’ idea.

Nintendo has not officially announced whether the remaster of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil will also be available for the Nintendo Switch, but it Twitter account Pixelbuster reports that Nightdive has confirmed via Discord that this successor is also coming to the Switch. The studio has not yet officially confirmed this and it is also unclear whether Turok 2 will also be released on March 18.

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter appeared in 1997 and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil in 1998. Both games came out for the Nintendo 64 and also for Windows. In the comics-based shooter game, the player takes on the role of Native American time traveler Turok, who must find parts of the Chronoscepter relic, including dinosaurs and aliens in his path.
