Nike is working on a fix for bugs that make self-closing shoes unusable
Shoemaker Nike is working on a fix for bugs that customers are experiencing with the Android app to close the shoes. The bugs prevent users from closing the shoes, rendering them virtually unusable.
Nike tells The Verge that a hard reset of the shoes by pressing both buttons sometimes solves the problems. The bugs cause the shoes to disconnect from the Android app, causing the self-closing feature to stop working.
The Verge also reports that the shoes’ Android app is not as extensive as the iOS version, which means, for example, that it lacks the option to adjust how tightly the shoes close themselves. It is unknown whether that option will be available soon.
Nike will not announce when the fix will be available. The Adapt BB shoes will go on sale this past weekend, which is likely to limit the number of people affected by these bugs. The Android app is on 1000+ installs, making it seem like there are at least less than 5,000 people using this app.
