Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be more expensive than S8 and S8+
The German site WinFuture claims that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are about a hundred euros more expensive than their predecessors. In the United Kingdom, the price increase is 50 pounds, a British tech site recently claimed.
Winfuture reports ‘based on information from Scandinavia’ that the price is 100 euros higher than until now. In addition, the site has published information about the devices, which supports previously released details. TechRadar recently published information from its own source that stated that the price for the S9 would come down to 739 pounds, which is converted to 833 euros. The S8 was 799 euros at release in the Benelux.
It was already known that Samsung would emphasize the camera with its new devices. The larger S9+ will feature a dual 12-megapixel rear camera. Both devices can use a lens with a variable aperture. The site repeats information that had already come out earlier and which showed that it concerns f/1.5 and f/2.4. The eight-megapixel front camera has an aperture of f/1.7. There have been rumors about a super slow motion function before, according to WinFuture this involves recordings at 960 fps.
The screen resolutions come down to 1440×2960 pixels, with the 9+ having a diagonal of 6.2″ compared to the 5.8″ of the S9. In Europe, the devices are equipped with an Exynos 9810-soc with four cores at 2.9GHz and the other four cores at 1.9GHz. The memory of the S9 is 4GB, while the larger Plus model has 6GB. Another difference is in battery capacity, which is 3000 and 3500mAh respectively. The device has a USB-C connection and supports wireless charging. In addition, AKG stereo speakers are present and the devices are certified with an IP68 rating for water resistance. The storage is 64 GB.
WinFuture also provides information about the available colors and writes that they come down to black, purple, blue and gray. That last color will probably not be available in Europe. Samsung is likely to announce the phones next Sunday. The manufacturer posted four teaser videos about the announcement last week.
