Twitter stops offering application for the Mac
Twitter has withdrawn its application for the Mac. The software has since been removed from the Mac application store, and in a month’s time, users who have already installed the app will no longer be able to use it.
The social networking site made the news self known, and did so via a short tweet. In that message, Twitter announced that the application for the Mac has been withdrawn from the application store with immediate effect. Incidentally, it is not clearly stated what the underlying reason is; the company merely states that it wants to provide a “more consistent experience.” Twitter does not provide any further explanation in its tweet about the course of events.
Users who have already installed the application will be able to use it initially. However, the operation of the software will also come to an end within 30 days. In a follow-up tweet, Twitter redirected its users to the web version of the social network.
