Preview members will soon get support for 1440p on Xbox One X and S
Kevin Gammil, a vice president of Microsoft’s Xbox division, has tweeted that Xbox Insider Program preview members will soon see support for native resolution 1440p monitors on the Xbox One X and One S.
Gammil gave No exact release date, but the fact that 1440p support will be available to preview members on both the Xbox One X and One S quite soon probably means that the official introduction of this functionality on the two consoles will not be long either. to wait.
Last November, Gammil announced a few days before the release of the Xbox One X that the new console would also support native resolution of 1440p monitors, but it was unclear at the time when that would be added. This support means that the Xbox One X will not supersample 1080p resolution on a 1440p monitor.
The vice president also announced last year that if a game on an Xbox One X outputs a 1440p resolution, the image on a 4k television will be upscaled to a 2160p resolution. A TV with a full HD resolution uses super sampling so that the higher resolution is reduced to an appropriate 1080p resolution.
