Blizzard has no plans to release Hearthstone for Nintendo Switch
Blizzard game developer Dean Ayala has said in an interview with the website PowerUp Gaming that there are no plans from Blizzard to release the card game Hearthstone for the Nintendo Switch.
With that, Blizzard has not completely ruled out a port of Hearthstone for the Nintendo Switch, but it seems unlikely that a Switch version of the card game will be released. Ayala has not explained why Hearthstone will not be released for the Switch at least for the time being. Last year there was a rumor from a Reddit user that Blizzard would be working on a version of Hearthstone for the Nintendo Switch.
This rumor was preceded by statements from Peter Whalen, another Hearthstone developer. He then reported that he thought no one was working on a Switch version, but that shouldn’t be ruled out either. He said this because, according to him, Hearthstone works very well on tablets and smartphones, making the game much more accessible to a larger group of people.
Blizzard may be waiting with a Switch version of the card game until Nintendo Switch Online, the online game service for the console, comes out in September. Hearthstone can only be played online.
