Apple will release the iMac Pro in the Benelux at the beginning of January. The starting price of the new all-in-one is 5499 euros. The price in the United States starts at $ 4999. The most expensive version of the computer is more than 15,000 euros.

Apple can deliver versions with eight and ten processor cores at the beginning of January, the variants with fourteen and eighteen cores will come in February. As standard, Apple supplies iMac Pro with 32GB DDR4 memory, a 1TB SSD and an AMD Radeon Vega Pro 56 with 8GB of HBM2 memory.

Users can opt for memory, storage and gpu upgrades. In the most expensive version of 15,339 euros, users get 128GB of memory, an SSD of 4TB and a Vega Pro 64 with 16GB of HBM2 memory in addition to the 18-core Intel Xeon W processor.

It is not possible to easily upgrade yourself later, because Apple has completely closed the housing. On the back are an Ethernet connection, four USB-A ports with USB 3.0, four USB-C connections with Thunderbolt 3, an SD card reader and a 3.5mm jack.

With the iMac Pro, Apple wants to release a temporary successor to the Mac Pro from 2013. The desktop without a screen has not been given a successor for years, to the dismay of many people who work on Apple’s machines. Apple previously announced that a new desktop is coming, but that will have to wait at least until next year.
