Microsoft releases Edge for iOS
Microsoft has made the Edge browser available for iOS. The software developer has taken the browser preview stamp and released the final version. The Android version came out on Wednesday.
The mobile Edge version requires iOS 9.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, according to Microsoft. However, according to Neowin, there is no special iPad version yet, nor is the browser optimized for the iPhone X screen.
Edge for iOS features the Continue on PC feature, allowing users to continue their mobile browsing session on a Windows 10 PC and also sync favorites. In addition, the functions Reading List, New Page Tab and Reading View are present and there is the Dark Theme.
The browser is available in the US, China, France and the UK, but Microsoft promises more countries to follow. On Wednesday, Microsoft already released the Android version of Edge. The preview of it already appeared before that of iOS. In early October, Microsoft announced it was bringing its browser to iOS and Android. Microsoft uses the Webkit engine for the iOS version and Blink for the Android version.
