The next generation of iPhones will have an antenna system that can handle 4×4 MiMo. As a result, the phones will be much faster on 4G networks than is possible with current iPhones.

The current iPhones have an antenna system that makes 2×2 MiMo possible and therefore 4g is possible with a maximum speed of 600Mbit/s. This leads to measurably slower 4G than competing phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel 2 and possibly to connection problems with less range. With 4×4 MiMo, iPhones would support 4g with maximum speeds of 1Gbit/s or higher.

Intel will supply many of the modems that should enable faster 4G, claims analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities according to 9to5 Mac. That analyst is known for his often accurate reports on future Apple products. According to Kuo, there will be at least one iPhone next year that will have a dual SIM variant. Dualsim is an important feature in many parts of the world, but there has never been an Apple smartphone to support it.

Kuo previously estimated that three iPhones will come with the design of the iPhone X next year. Two of them will have an OLED screen, with diagonals of 5.8″ and 6.5″. The third would have an LCD with a diagonal of 6.1 “. Because it concerns devices with a design like the iPhone X, it is probably screens with a ratio of the iPhone X: 19.5:9. The 6, The 5” iPhone would therefore be about the same size as the current iPhone 8 Plus. Apple usually releases its phones in the fall. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus were released in September, followed by the iPhone X in November.
