Jonsbo makes heat spreader with RGB LEDs for memory sticks

The Chinese manufacturer Jonsbo has presented a heat spreader for memory strips that is equipped with a strip of RGB LEDs. The accessory allows users to customize the appearance of memory modules without heatsink or other extras.

The Jonsbo Heatspreader NC-1 consists of two parts with a diffuser and RGB LEDs in the middle. The parts must be glued to either side of a memory stick with thermal pads. There is a button on the accessory to adjust the color of the lighting. There is also an effect where 256 colors are displayed. There is no integration with software for operating the lighting.

According to Jonsbo, the Heatspreader NC-1 is suitable for both high and low memory sticks and it doesn’t matter whether there are memory chips on one or two sides. The heat spreaders must be connected to a three-pin connector on the motherboard. It is possible to place several copies in series on one connector. Jonsbo has not disclosed a price for the accessory.
