B&O introduces wireless Beoplay M3 speaker for 299 euros

Bang & Olufsen has announced the Beoplay M3 speaker. It is a compact, wireless multi-room speaker that functions in combination with Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay and additional B&O speakers.

The Beoplay M3 drivers are a 3.75″ woofer and a ¾” tweeter and both are powered by a 40W amplifier. The speaker supports WiFi-AC and Bluetooth 4.2, and can stream audio in combination with Chromecast, Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth audio streaming. Support for AirPlay 2 will follow in 2018, the company promises. The speaker has an analog 3.5mm connector and micro USB port.

Multiroom functionality is available in combination with the Beoplay A6, A9 and M5 from B&O, or other speakers that work via Beolink Multiroom or Chromecast. The dimensions of the product are 11.2×15.1x14cm and the weight is 1.46kg. The speaker is available in gray and black. The suggested retail price is 299 euros.

B&O will compete with Sonos and Denon with the speaker. In addition, more and more manufacturers are releasing wireless speakers with support for digital assistants.
