A render of what would be the Samsung Galaxy Sport, a new Tizen smartwatch from the South Korean manufacturer, has appeared. The render shows a light metal housing and two buttons on the side.

The render only shows the front, but due to the screenshot used, it is impossible to estimate how large the border around the screen is. The render of 91Mobiles also shows no design element for the rotating bezel of previous Samsung smartwatches, but it is probably there, thinks SamMobile. That is an important element for controlling the interface of Tizen.

Inspection authorities have recently approved a Samsung product with type number R500, which makes it appear to be the type number of this watch. According to 91Mobiles, it has NFC for mobile payments and a memory with a capacity of 4GB. Due to the Sport name, 91Mobiles is guessing that the case will be waterproof, but there is no further information on that. The Galaxy designation indicates that Samsung is releasing the Gear name for its smartwatches. Five months ago Samsung presented the Galaxy Watch, a year and a half ago the Gear Sport.

Samsung will hold an event in two weeks to mark the presentation of its Galaxy S10 smartphone. That would also be an opportunity to publicize the new smartwatch. Details about release and price are unknown.
