The long-awaited robot battle between the American MegaBots and the Japanese Suidobashi Heavy Industry has taken place. The result is mainly an acted show, seen in a video of almost half an hour.

In total, three battles took place. The aim was to eliminate the opponent by knocking or disabling it. The competition took place in an old steel factory at a location in Japan.

In the first duel, the old Iron Glory MK2 robot from the American MegaBots takes on the Japanese robot Kuratas. Iron Glory is about 4.6 meters high, weighs 6 tons and has a wingspan of 6.7 meters. It is powered by a 24 hp engine, can reach a speed of 4 km/h and has a cannon that can fire large paint balls. The smaller Kuratas is 4 meters high and has a wingspan of 6 meters. The weight is 6.5 tons and an 87 hp engine ensures a top speed of 29 km/h. A steel punching fist should enable Kuratas to take out his opponent. The first fight is over in seconds, the outcome is not too surprising.

For the second battle, MegaBots deploys its Eagle Prime MK3 robot, which the company developed specifically for the duel. That model is 4.8 meters high, has a wingspan of 12.2 meters and weighs 12 tons. A 430 hp engine ensures a maximum speed of 16 km/h. The Eagle Prime has interchangeable weapons, including a grappling claw and an industrial chainsaw.

The second battle lasts considerably longer and there are quite a few skirmishes taking place. The fight must initially be stopped if an emergency stop button is hit. In a second round, the Eagle Prime robot attacks its Japanese opponent with the huge chainsaw. The whole thing ends in a spectacular way, with the decor also involved and presenter Mike Goldberg and robot expert Saura Naderia having to put their best foot forward in the field of acting.

The robot duel took place without an audience and was not broadcast live. The American MegaBots thinks the concept is suitable for live shows. It is not yet known whether they will actually come.
