The Austrian Noctua, known for its fans with brown color scheme, has released black variants of its 120mm and 140mm fans. The black versions come with interchangeable anti-vibration corners in six colours.

Noctua calls the color versions of its fans chromax.black.swap editions. These are variants of the NF-A15, NF-A14, NF-F12 and the NF-S12A. These are all existing fans in 140mm and 120mm versions, according to the company they are the most popular products from the range. The suggested retail prices are between 22.90 and 26.90 euros.

The chromax.black.swap editions are completely black and come with rubber corners in the colors red, white, blue, green, yellow and black. That should allow users to match the colors of the fans to the rest of the system. In all other respects, the characteristics of the fans are the same as the ordinary brown models.

Noctua is also releasing a series of heatsink covers for its NH-U12S and NH-D15(S) coolers. These are available in black and white and there are interchangeable in-lays in black, white, red, blue, green and yellow. The manufacturer also comes with extension cables and y-cables for connecting fans in the same six color combinations.

With the new products, Noctua takes color schemes of PC builds into account for the first time. The Austrian manufacturer previously mainly released products with a characteristic brown color scheme. Variants for the industrial market were already available in black. There was also a redux line of gray fans. The company’s fans are highly regarded, but PC enthusiasts who build their own system while also paying attention to the color scheme may have neglected the fans due to the traditional use of brown.
