EA turns on Guest functionality in FIFA 18 FUT mode after criticism from players
EA has reactivated the Guest functionality in FIFA 18’s FIFA Ultimate Team mode. The option to play matches together was not initially in the game, while it was introduced last year.
Guest functionality will be available immediately in FIFA 18, both on consoles and PC. Users do not need to download an update, the feature is enabled through a server update.
However, there are a number of graphic elements that are still missing and that need to be added later with an update. EA in a post lists the steps required to add a guest in FUT Online Seasons and FUT Online Draft.
The guest mode was introduced in FIFA 17 and allows players to play matches locally in Ultimate Team mode, with two players on one console. These two-player teams are also pitted against players who play alone in the competitive game mode. With the release of FIFA 18, guest mode disappeared from Ultimate Team mode. Guest mode was still available in other game modes.
The publisher says in the forum message to have listened to criticism from users. According to Eurogamer, EA said two weeks ago that the guest mode had been removed to create a “competitive balance for all players.” However, many FIFA players complained about the removal of the guest mode. Nearly 11,000 players signed a petition on Change.org to get the functionality back.
