WhatsApp announces various video calling features for meetings
WhatsApp announces some new functionalities for the video calling function. The update applies to both the desktop and smartphone versions and will be released sometime in the coming weeks.
Company reports that a video call now supports 32 participants and that the speaker is automatically highlighted so that users can see who is talking. In addition, after the update, users can share their screen including audio. It was already possible to only share images. The functions correspond to options that are also included in meeting software such as Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. By the way, those apps support significantly more simultaneous participants for video calls.
