Capcom announced a new Monster Hunter game during The Game Awards. The action RPG should be released sometime in 2025 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC via Steam. No specific release date has been announced yet.

The short trailer shows some of the gameplay in the game. The player rides a small dinosaur through a herd of monsters while being chased by a group of aggressive monsters and a cloud of dust. The animal the player rides can not only run, but also fly and nimbly jump from rock to rock. Other than that, the trailer shows very little. For example, there are no images of the battles against large monsters, which the Monster Hunter series is known for.

The last major Monster Hunter game to appear is Monster Hunter Rise, which was initially released for the Nintendo Switch in 2021. The game was later also released for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC. In addition, spin-off games have been released in the meantime, including the more traditional RPG Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Monster Hunter Now, a mobile game.
