Indie Studio Presents Adventure Game Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo
Pendulo Studios is working on a game that is inspired by the film Vertigo by director Alfred Hitchcock from 1958. According to the makers, the game of the same name is a psychological thriller in which various elements and themes from the film return.
According to the makers, the game Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo revolves around themes such as obsession, manipulation and the boundary between dreams and reality. The developers say they use the film as a source of inspiration and take over various elements such as the camera work. By this they mean, for example, the dolly zoom effect, which is also known as the Hitchcock shot or Vertigo shot.
The story is about writer Ed Miller, who gets out of his car unharmed after it has plunged into a ravine. No one is found in the wreckage, but Ed insists he was out with his wife and daughter. Due to the trauma that he is left with, he suffers from severe vertigo and fear of heights. To discover through therapy with him what exactly happened that day.
The game will be published by French publisher Microids and will be released ‘soon’ on Steam for PC and Mac, for PlayStation 4 and 5, for Xbox One and Series X and S, and for Nintendo Switch. A release date has not yet been announced.
