Lenovo stops developing Legion gaming phones
Lenovo has confirmed that it has stopped development of its Legion gaming phones. The company will no longer release new devices because it wants to focus on other gaming-related products.
Lenovo confirms the discontinuation Android Authority. The company says it will no longer make Legion phones as “part of a broader business transformation and consolidation of our gaming portfolio.” The company says that it still wants to release other gaming products ‘with different form factors’, but that no longer includes high-end gaming devices. There were previously rumors that Lenovo would discontinue the line, but now there is also official confirmation.
The company’s last gaming phone was the Legion Y70, which was released in August last year. That phone had a 144Hz OLED screen with HDR10+ support and a brightness of 1000 nits. The Legion devices were specifically aimed at gamers with, among other things, bright displays and large batteries. It is not known whether Lenovo already had new Legion devices in the works, but if so, they will no longer be released.
