The new generation of Meteor Lake processors will only be released as a maximum of a Core i5 CPU, according to a leaked slide. It shows how Meteor Lake only comes in two variants. Core i9 models would be released in the subsequent Arrow Lake generation.

That information is there a leaked slide which appeared on Twitter. It contains specifications of upcoming Intel processors. The slide states that Intel wants to release Meteor Lake-S desktop processors with TDPs of 35 and 65W. Intel releases them at most as Core i5 models in the Meteor Lake generation. So no Core i7 or i9 models will appear. There were previously rumors that the Meteor Lake generation would only be released as an i5 and i7 variant, but now the latter also seems to have been canceled.

According to previous rumors from Wccftech Ultimately, four Meteor Lake models will be launched on the market. These would be two models with six performance and sixteen energy-efficient cores and two models with six P and eight E cores, both of which will be released as a 35W or 65W model. A previously leaked model with a TDP of 125W appears to have been deleted. The CPUs will be available for Socket LGA 1851, which will succeed the current LGA 1700 socket.

The slides also contain information about the upcoming Arrow Lake processors, which will be available as a Core i9 variant. These more powerful variants also have a higher TDP of up to 125W. Both the Meteor Lakes and the Arrow Lakes appear to be only compatible with DDR5 and not backwards compatible with older memory versions. The current Alder Lake and Raptor Lake CPUs do support DDR4 and DDR5.
