Noctua is showing off several upcoming products at Computex 2023. The company is showing prototypes of its second-generation NH-D15 processor cooler and new 140mm fans, among other things. In addition, the company is showing various mounting kits for AMD CPUs.

Noctua reports that the second-generation NH-D15 has eight heat pipes, where the current version has six heat pipes. In addition, the distance between the different fins is reduced from 1.9 to 1.6 mm. This should provide twenty percent more cooling surface than the first generation NH-D15 had.

The dual tower cooler gets an asymmetric design for better compatibility with high memory modules. Noctua expects the second-generation NH-D15 to be released in the second quarter of 2024, although Noctua’s roadmap is subject to change; the cooler was initially scheduled for late 2022.

The new processor cooler is also equipped with a new generation of 140mm fans, which Noctua is also showing during the Computex. These fans are made of liquid-crystal polymer and have smaller production tolerances. This way, the ends of the rotor blades are closer to the frame. According to Noctua, the fans have been in development since 2015 and are expected to be ready for mass production at the end of this year. A release should follow in the first quarter of 2024.

AM5 mounting kits and more new coolers and fans

Noctua also shows various mounting kits for Ryzen 7000 desktop processors. For example, the company comes with an offset kit. This means that the CPU cooler is mounted slightly lower on the heat spreader of Ryzen 7000 CPUs. This places the center of the cooler closer to the CCD chiplets with Zen 4 cores, which produce more heat than the higher-placed I/O die. The company will release that kit on its own website in June for 3.90 euros. At the end of this year, the set will be supplied with Noctua coolers as standard.

In addition, Noctua comes with a mounting kit that allows Noctua coolers to be placed on top of delidded Ryzen 7000 CPUs. The company developed that set in collaboration with well-known overclocker Der8auer. According to Noctua, delidding, the removal of the integrated heat spreader, from Ryzen 7000 CPUs leads to temperature improvements of 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. The set is compatible with ‘most Noctua CPU coolers since 2005’ and will be available in June for €4.90.

In the coming months, Noctua will release a next-gen cooler for Threadripper processors, a 24V version of the NF-A4x10 fan, a thin 60mm fan and new Chromax Black coolers with a black design. These should all be published in the second half of this year.
