Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series will be released in spring 2023 for Switch and PS4
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games will be released in the spring of 2023 for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The games, which are remasters of Final Fantasy I to VI, were already released in 2021 for PC, Android and iOS.
Developer Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series for consoles on Monday. The company has not yet announced a specific release date, but says the games will be available in spring 2023. The remasters can then be purchased individually or in a bundle via the Nintendo eShop and the PlayStation Store.
A special physical edition will also be published in the same period. The ‘FF35th Anniversary Edition’ includes the physical bundle of the six remasters, a book with pixel art of Final Fantasy characters and two LPs with arrangements of the music from the games. The special edition is available via the Square Enix web store and costs 274.99 euros. The physical bundle of the six games is also available separately and costs 75 euros.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games have had their graphics and audio updated. The 2D characters and backgrounds have been redrawn, keeping the original creator’s designs in mind. The soundtracks have also been arranged together with the original composer and now use more than three notes.
