Samsung: not yet announced midrange Galaxy A54 is easier to repair

Samsung says the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy A54 smartphone is more repairable than its predecessor A53 and the current top models in the S23 line. It is still unknown when Samsung will announce the smartphone.

Samsung hasn’t shown the phone yet, but the French support page is already online and there is a mandatory repair score to find, discovered Galaxy Club. This is higher than that of the A53 and S23. This is due to the higher score for the subsection ‘ease of disassembly of main parts’. This most likely includes the battery and the screen.

Samsung gave the A53 and S23 phones a 4.2 out of 10 points, which has now become a 5.8. There is a lower score for the attachment of parts in the smartphone, but it is not clear why this is the case. Samsung is known for gluing its batteries so tightly that they are difficult to remove and replace when they are worn out. Other manufacturers use less glue for this and also add pull strips to easily remove the glue, something that Samsung has also refused to do so far.

The Galaxy A54 is the new phone in Samsung’s A5x series, which is one of the most popular models in the Benelux. Specs of the phone were also released on Tuesday. The renders of the A54 were previously leaked. According to WinFuture, the phone would cost 500 euros. The repair score indicates how repairable a phone is and has been mandatory for a few years.
