Bethesda Game Studios will release the highly anticipated space RPG Starfield on September 6. Last year, the developer, which was incorporated by Microsoft in 2020, announced that Starfield would be released in the first half of 2023.

On his website writes Bethesda that Starfield will be released on September 6 exclusively for the Xbox Series X|S and PC, and that also applies to Xbox Game Pass. Due to the acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft in 2020, the game has become an Xbox exclusive and the game will not be released for PlayStation consoles.

Starfield game director Todd Howard says in a new video that a special Starfield Direct event will take place on June 11, offering a deeper look at the game from Bethesda’s studio.

The video not only includes a short statement from Howard announcing the event, thanking players for their feedback and enthusiasm, and indicating how intensively the company is working on Starfield. The first half of the video contains a short teaser with some images from the in-game engine.

Starfield was previously scheduled for release on November 11, 2022, but in May last year it became clear that this would not be achieved and the developer indicated that Starfield was postponed until the first half of 2023. No new release date was mentioned at the time.
