Elgato announces free version of Stream Deck Mobile app for iOS and iPadOS
Elgato has announced an update to the Stream Deck Mobile app that allows an iPad or iPhone to be used as a streaming deck for free, but with some restrictions. The unlimited Stream Deck Mobile Pro subscription continues to cost 3 euros per month or 30 euros per year.
The updated subscription system of the Corsair subsidiary makes it possible for iPad and iPhone users to use their device as a six-button streaming deck for free. The user then basically has access to all plug-ins and can perform an unlimited number of actions, spread over a maximum of six buttons on the screen at the same time. With a Pro subscription, customers get access to 64 virtual buttons at once, double the maximum on a Stream Deck XL. The Stream Deck Mobile app does not require special hardware from Elgato.
For now, the free mobile version of Stream Deck is only available for the listed Apple devices, so Android users can only use a paid version of the app. There is a free thirty-day trial version available for Android.
On Twitter says Elgato that it will remain that way for the time being, because the company says it has a small team with limited resources. An Android version of the app should also be released ‘in the future’, although it is not yet clear when that will happen.
