Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III releases on November 10
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be released on November 10 this year, according to a teaser trailer. It is the first time that two Modern Warfare variants of Call of Duty have been released consecutively.
The teaser As befits a teaser, it doesn’t reveal much. It concerns some short voice fragments and faces that appear between the abstract shapes and quickly disappear again. These seem to indicate that the game has an old known antagonist, one who was thought dead. The game should not be confused with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, from 2011.
Call of Duty games traditionally have a single player and a multiplayer mode. In addition, predecessor Modern Warfare II introduced innovations in the free-to-play game mode Warzone; it’s not clear if MW III will do the same. It is to be expected that at least themes from the game will return in Warzone.
The teaser does not mention which platforms the game will be released on. The previous title, Modern Warfare II, was released on Windows, and the current and previous generation Xbox and PlayStation. However, there must come a time to let go of the previous generation of consoles; Microsoft’s own game studios have recently done this, for example. Perhaps the same will apply to the latest Call of Duty offering. Like Modern Warfare II, this game is being developed by Sledgehammer games, one of the studios that make CoD games.
