Spotify is testing the option to create lyrics as a Premium feature

Spotify is testing to see if it can make showing lyrics available only to Premium subscribers. Spotify acknowledges this, but details about the test are not known.

Users on, among others Reddit spotted a pop-up in Spotify when they wanted to request the built-in lyrics synchronization. It states that they must first take out a Premium subscription.

Spotify acknowledges opposite The Verge that it is running such a test. However, the company does not provide details about that test. It is therefore not clear how many users it runs and to whom it happens. It is also not known how long the test will run or how advanced the plans are to make the feature only for subscribers.
