Microsoft introduces Communities feature for Teams
Microsoft has introduced a new Communities feature for Teams. With this feature, the company wants to help groups and communities collaborate on projects. Communities is free and will first come to the iOS and Android app of the video calling software.
Via Communities in Microsoft Teams, messages can be exchanged, documents can be shared, physical and virtual events can be created, attendance can be tracked and private conversations can be initiated with members. Members can be added to a community via email, a telephone number, a QR code or a link.
Microsoft focuses with the function on productivity of groups or communities and also added some management options for group administrators. They can set guidelines and moderate content by removing users or posts.
The Communities feature is available for the free Teams iOS and Android app. Microsoft states that the feature will also be available for desktop users ‘soon’.
