Analyst firm: worldwide deliveries of cheap smartwatches are increasing
Deliveries of cheap smartwatches have increased significantly recently. This is the conclusion of analyst firm Counterpoint, which monitors deliveries from all manufacturers. This is mainly due to a significant increase in India.
Deliveries for basic smartwatches on which you cannot install third-party apps doubled compared to a year ago, reports Counterpoint. Brands that are completely unknown in Europe such as Noise and Fire-Boltt have therefore entered the top five, the figures show.
Apple continues to lead the market with a market share of around 33 percent. Samsung follows with about 14.5 percent. Amazfit and Xiaomi also have a place at the top of the global smartwatch market. Counterpoint separates the smartwatches on which users cannot install third-party apps and the smartwatches on which they can; the latter category is called High Level OS, HLOS.
In Europe, deliveries of smartwatches fell, the analyst firm said. That also happened in China. In total, smartwatch deliveries increased by 30 percent. More than a third of deliveries are now basic smartwatches.
