Microsoft announces Bing Chat Enterprise and Copilot pricing for businesses

Microsoft introduces Bing Chat Enterprise, a business version of its AI chatbot with more privacy options. The company also announces the prices for AI assistant Microsoft 365 Copilot. Companies must pay $30 per user per month to use the feature.

Bing Chat Enterprise is intended for companies and ensures that no company data is leaked through the use of the chatbot, reports Microsoft. Data from Bing Chat Enterprise conversations is not shared with parties outside the organization nor is it used to train the language model behind the chatbot. Chat conversations are not saved and Microsoft says it does not have eyes-on access to conversations in Bing Chat Enterprise. The functionality seems to be the same as the regular version of Bing Chat.

Bing Chat Enterprise is now available in preview. The feature is being added to Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium at no additional cost. Bing Chat Enterprise will also be available separately for $5 per month.

Several companies, including Apple and Samsung, have reportedly banned the use of AI chatbots on work equipment. Certain chatbots, such as ChatGPT, use users’ chat conversations to train their language models unless users opt out. Companies are therefore afraid that internal company information can be leaked via the chatbot.

Microsoft 365 Copilot for businesses

Microsoft is also announcing the prices of its Copilot AI assistant for commercial customers. That feature will be available to companies with a Microsoft 365 business subscription. The feature will then cost $30 per user per month, on top of the regular subscription costs.

This function will also eventually be added to Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard and Business Premium. 600 business customers are said to now have access to a preview of the AI assistant, but Microsoft does not say when Copilot will be released for all users.

Microsoft 365 Copilot was previously announced. This paid AI assistant is integrated into Office apps, among other things. Copilot can, for example, write Word documents, analyze Excel spreadsheets, design PowerPoint presentations, check an Outlook inbox and summarize Teams meetings. The feature also gets the functionality of Bing Chat Enterprise integrated.
