Source code for Far Cry 1 from 2004 appears online
Web Archive has put the source code of Far Cry 1 online. It does not seem to be a fully working version yet, although that could be possible in the future. The download is just over 70MB.
The game’s assets are missing, but according to gaming moderator Vinicius Medeiros is to compile and run the game with the source code and assets from the full game. Also in the reviews below the upload on Web Archive shows that users have compiled the game with assets from version 1.33. The upload itself is from version 1.34.
Far Cry was the first game from the German developer Crytek and was released in 2004. The Far Cry series has now had six parts. It is unknown why and why the source code of the first game has now come online.
