Blizzard releases Battle.net app for Android and iOS
Blizzard has released Battle.net for Android and iOS. It is a companion app that allows users to chat with each other, add friends and see what friends are playing. The Blizzard Authenticator for two-factor authentication is not integrated into the app.
The Battle.net app is available in the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store. Users can add each other as friends by scanning a QR code or entering a BattleTag or email address. Besides chatting, managing friends and seeing who is playing what, the app does not offer any further functionality yet.
A Blizzard Authenticator app was already available for Android and iOS, which can be used to log in to the desktop client with two-factor authentication. It seems a logical move that Blizzard will also integrate this functionality into the Battle.net app in the future. That is also the case with the companion app from Steam.
