Nvidia will start shipping the Shield TV with remote control, but without controller, from October 18. The package with only the media streamer and remote control costs 199 euros. The bundle of the Shield TV including controller and that with the Shield TV Pro will remain available.

Nvidia has put the third option for the Shield in its own store, where the ‘remote only’ version is available for 199 euros. Delivery in the Benelux will start on October 18. It is not known whether stores will put the new bundle of the media streamer on the shelves earlier.

The bundling with only the remote control comes in addition to the existing offer. The Shield TV with remote control and game controller costs 229.99 euros. A separate controller costs 69.99 euros. The Pro version of the Shield TV, with 500GB instead of 16GB of storage, costs 329.99 euros.

The Shield runs on Android 7.0, can display 4k video and has integrated support for Google Voice voice control and Chromecast. PCs with a suitable Nvidia card can stream games to the player and the device also works in combination with Nvidia’s streaming service GeForce Now, which requires a subscription.
