Chinese make maze with trees that together form a huge QR code
Employees of the local tourism office in the Chinese village of Xilinshui have created a maze with 130,000 conifers. Together, these trees form the structure of a giant QR code. It is not clear how best to scan the QR code.
Visitors who somehow manage to scan the code from the air will be automatically redirected to the local tourism board’s WeChat page on their phone. Which reports the South China Morning Post. The maze has a length of 227 meters on both sides and the conifers used are between 80 cm and 2.5 meters high.
Xilinshui was named the most beautiful village in the northern Chinese province of Hebei in 2015. The village received a sum of 140,000 euros. It is not clear whether some of this money was spent on the creation of the green maze. The use of QR codes is quite popular in China, and this special maze is an attempt to increase the popularity of the village.
