Asus announces compact VivoMini PC with space for five storage media

Asus releases the VivoMini VC68V for the business market. It is a compact system with Core i5 or Core i7 and space for four 2.5″ storage media and an m2 SSD. Optionally, the manufacturer provides models with Intel Optane memory.

Asus optionally installs the Core i7-7700 or the Core i5-7500 in the VivoMini VC68V, supplemented with up to 32GB DDR4. In terms of storage, there are three different configuration options: one with two 2.5″ drives, one with four 2.5″ drives and a third option with two 2.5″ storage media supplemented with an optical drive. In addition, users insert an m2 SSD into the VivoMini VC68V.

The dimensions of the two-litre housing are 197.5 by 196.3mm with a height of 49.3 or 61.9mm, depending on the chosen configuration. The system can be attached to the back of a monitor with a vesa bracket. Asus has attached two USB 3.1 type-a ports on the front and there are also specific Skype buttons with which VoIP calls can be set up via that service. At the back are another four USB 3.1 type-a ports, HDMI, two display ports, gigabit Ethernet and a 4-in-1 card reader. In addition, there is another serial port. Asus focuses specifically on the business market, according to the press release distributed by Hexus. The company does not disclose prices.
