Motorola provides Moto X4 with Alexa assistant
Motorola has announced the Moto X4. It is a midrange device with a 5.2 “screen, Snapdragon 630 and two cameras on the back. Motorola has integrated the Alexa voice assistant, which can be used without unlocking the phone.
The Moto X4’s dual camera system consists of a 12-megapixel camera with an f2.0 aperture and a wide-angle variant with an 8-megapixel sensor and f2.2 lens. The front camera has a 16-megapixel sensor. The 5.2″ screen with IPS panel offers a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, in a glass and metal housing.
The dimensions of the device are 148.35×73.4×7.99mm and the weight is 163 grams. The device is resistant to water based on the IP68 classification, something that previous Motorola devices sometimes lacked. The Moto X4 should distinguish itself with Amazon Alexa support, but the voice assistant can only be used in markets where Amazon supports it, such as the US, UK and Germany. Users don’t have to unlock their phone before using it, but can ask Alexa questions directly.
Another notable feature is the ability to connect up to four Bluetooth devices simultaneously for audio playback. For example, several Bluetooth headsets can be connected to listen to music with others.
The soc is the Snapdragon 630 from Qualcomm and Motorola provides the device with 3GB of ram and 32GB of storage, to be completed with a microSD card. The battery capacity is 3000mAh. Motorola emphasizes the combination of ‘pure Android’ with Motorola Experiences, but the device is not yet supplied with Android O but with Android 7.1 Nougat. The manufacturer will start delivery at the end of September for an amount of 379 euros.
