GTA Online Gets PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds-Like Game Mode
Rockstar Games has released the Smuggler’s Run expansion for GTA Online. The update appears to include a new Motor Wars game mode, in which four teams have to battle it out in an ever-shrinking circle.
Motor Wars is a new Adversary Mode, which appears to have been added with the latest update. The earlier announcement of the Smuggler’s Run expansion made no mention of this, but a post about the expansion does mention the mode. The update is now available.
In the game mode, players have to choose a team and there are always four teams, each containing up to fourteen players. Just like in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, players have to jump out of a plane and then shoot each other in a shrinking circle. While the concept is partly similar to the popular PUBG, Motor Wars is less individual.
As the name Motor Wars implies, players can use different vehicles equipped with weapons. There are also various weapons to be found in the area. Both the weapons and the vehicles are marked on the map.
The new game mode is not the main addition of the expansion. The free Smuggler’s Run DLC is mainly about the new customizable hangars, from which smuggling operations can be organized. Seven planes have been added for players to use.
