Asus equips ZenBook Flip laptops with Kaby Lake quad-cores and GeForce GPUs
Asus has updated its ZenBook Flip and VivoBook Flip line at IFA. The company is releasing a ZenBook Flip with a 14″ and one with a 15.6″ screen. Both have new Kaby Lake quadcores. The company also announced the price of its Mixed Reality headset.
ZenBook Flip 14’s 14-inch display with narrow bezels shows off 1080p resolution. The 2-in1 laptop is 13.9mm thick, but Asus found room to fit a GeForce MX150 into it. The weight of the laptops weigh 1.4 kilograms, the processor is up to the Intel Core i7-8550U, which combines four cores and eight threads with a TDP of 15W, up to 16GB of RAM and PCI-e SSD storage of up to 512GB The starting price of the model is 799 euros.
The ZenBook Flip 15 is not only bigger with its 15.6″ screen, it also offers higher graphics performance. The processor is also an eighth-generation Kaby Lake quad-core, but the video card is the GTX 1050 from Nvidia. The card delivers image to the UHD screen, but there are also versions with a 1080p screen. Asus provides this 2-in-1 with up to 2TB HDD storage and 512GB SSD storage, and up to 16GB RAM. usb-c port with Thunderbolt 3. The convertible will be available in gray and silver for a starting price of 899 euros.
The VivoBook Flip 14 is an entry-level 2-in-1 that still features a seventh-generation Core i7 dual-core. This convertible is 15.4 mm thick and weighs 1.5 kilograms. There will also be a VivoBook S14, which does not have a folding screen. This laptop is 18.8 mm thick and weighs 1.3 kilograms. This machine does have an Intel Core i7-8550U, as well as a GeForce MX150. The starting price of the VivoBooks is 399 euros.
Asus also announced the price of its Windows Mixed Reality headset during the presentation at the IFA in Berlin. The manufacturer supplies these including controllers, for a price of 449 euros.
