YouTube appears to be testing display of current video viewers
YouTube appears to be testing a new feature that will display the number of viewers currently watching the same video while watching a YouTube video. The feature appears to be only available as a test for a limited number of Android users.
Two YouTube users took screenshots, which were published by AndroidPolice. The number of current viewers is visible below the title of the video and above the like and dislike button. This normally shows the total number of views from the start of the video’s release.
This includes users of YouTube’s Android mobile app; they have been selected for this by Google. It is still unclear if and if so when the live view of the current viewership of a YouTube video will be available to everyone and whether it will also be available to non-Android users.
