Download µTorrent 1.2.3 beta build 356

Spread the love

Ludvig Strigeus has just released version 1.2.3 beta of µTorrent. This BitTorrent client has become very popular in a short time. This is partly due to the size of the program of only 110KB and a particularly low load on the memory and the processor. Furthermore, it contains useful features such as multiple simultaneous downloads, the ability to set bandwidth usage and support for protocol extensions and UPnP. The main change in this release is support for unicode. This allows file names with special characters, such as Chinese or Japanese characters, to be used. However, this means that µTorrent can no longer be used under Windows 9x, as these outdated operating systems do not support unicode. The full changelog looks like this:

New features:

  • UNICODE!
  • Added option to sort downloads based on the label.
  • Autodetect if the language textfile is utf8 or ansi.
  • Rate limit DHT traffic.

Bug fixed:

  • Use atomic movefile when saving resume file on XP
  • Better utorrent.exe.log if translation loading fails
  • Fix bug that DHT got stuck in (Login)
  • Fixed some crashing bugs. (Thanks to the crash dumps)
  • Hopefully worked around the file open crash. (Caused by Adobe Acrobat 7).
  • Fix crash bug if an invalid filename is selected in the opendialog.
  • Fix crash when removing torrents.
  • Fix sorting into pieces tab
