Iiyama introduces 24″ va display
The latest display from the ProLite series from manufacturer iiyama uses a va panel. The properties of this vertical alignment panel are midway between the properties of a TN screen and those of an IPS display.
The latest display from iiyama has a so-called mva panel on board; this display technology is cheaper than ips techniques, but should provide better image quality than the cheap tn panels normally used in budget monitors. The viewing angle of VA screens in particular is said to be comparable to that of IPS panels, while the colors in TN screens quickly fade at larger viewing angles. However, this is offset by a slightly higher price and longer response times than with TN panels.
It ProLite X2472HDSWith a response time of 8ms, the screen is therefore slightly slower than is usual with TN panels, but that is compensated by the 3000:1 contrast ratio and the viewing angle of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. The brightness of the screen is 250 candela per square meter and the resolution of the 24″ panel has 1920 by 1080 pixels. The screen is equipped with a D-sub, DVI and HDMI connection, and an audio port is also available. The screen should be available for 215 euros in mid-March.
