Game developer Bohemia Interactive has confirmed that hackers have attacked its servers. The source code of the survival game DayZ may have been stolen, but the attackers would not have had access to user data.

A post appeared on the Unknown Cheats forum in which a user with the alias DevDomo claimed that he had gained access to servers of development studio Bohemia Interactive using an sql injection. As ‘evidence’, the attacker posted some images of alleged source code and code used to attack the servers. A tool has now also appeared online with which the survival game DayZ can be debugged.

Bohemia Interactive has since confirmed the hack and is conducting an investigation reports the website Relyonhorror. The developer allegedly indicated that the attackers had no access to user data. The development of new titles would also not be endangered by the hack. Despite this, there is a risk that new exploits will come online in the coming days, allowing a player to perform cheats.
