LastPass Doubles Price of Premium Offering
Password manager LastPass has increased the annual price for its Premium offering from $12 to $24. New subscribers also no longer have access to a shared folder. The new Family offer does.
LastPass announces its new offering of three services on its site. Premium users get all the features that the free subscription also offers for $ 24 a year, plus other services. Below that is, for example, ‘One-to-many sharing’, but the shared folder function has been removed.
LastPass clarifies that existing Premium subscribers will keep their shared folder. Unlimited folder sharing is part of the Family plan, which costs $48 per year and includes six users.
The provider removes some features of the free plan. For example, sharing here is limited to a single item with a single other user. In addition, emergency access is no longer part of the offer. Existing users who have already set up a contact will retain the functionality.
Password manager users are complaining about the price increase on the LastPass forum.
